Mexican Oilcloth: Can you source oilcloth that is wider than 1.2m?
Unfortunately no. This width is determined by the machines that make the cloth in Mexico. The maximum width is 120cm.
Gold Leaf Gloves: Can I wash the gloves?
Gold Leaf Gloves are made from an extremely high quality leather. When they get dirty, simply wash them down with water, then leave them to dry naturally. They will retain their soft feel and suppleness. The manufacturers recommend you do not use soap or leather conditioners, as this can strip the natural oils from the leather.
Haitian Wall Sculptures: Are these all one-of-a-kind artworks?
Each piece is hand made, however the artists make more than one of most designs. For this reason, pieces may vary slightly from the image shown. However, we also stock a limited number of one-off pieces - look under one-of-a-kind in the Haitian Art section for a complete listing.
Haitian Wall Sculptures: Can I hang them outside?
The wall sculptures are made from recycled oil drums and have been lacquered which makes them suitable for hanging inside or outside. They can tolerate full exposure to sun, rain and wind. It is natural to expect some changes to the finish of the sculptures - they may patina over time.
Haitian Wall Sculptures: Are they heavy? How do I hang them?
The sculptures are surprisingly light and most can easily be hung on a standard picture hook or even a small screw. Larger pieces may require more than one hook/screw.
