Our 5 Favourite uses for Oilcloth that do not involve Sewing – No 2

One easy way to make a quick and colourful impact is to re-upholster chairs or stools in Oilcloth. We have done this many times to great effect and it never fails to impress (hopefully you will think so too).

Here’s our by step guide to show how easy this can be.

Step 1: Find an old piece of furniture (the more bland the better) and remove the cushion

Step 2: Use the cushion as a template to determine the size of the oilcloth that you will need, making sure you have left enough room for it to be wrapped around.

Step 3: Staple the fabric to the underside of the cushion, taking special care to keep the edges tight.

Step 4: Re-attach the cushion and show it off to all you friends so that they can OOOH and AAAH in appreciation.
